Alex Kay is one of Le Mans Ultimate’s most prominent community figures. The biggest name in Australia, and globally recognised for supporting the game since early access. His guides, tutorials, and track breakdowns helped build the LMU community. When he launched LMU Academy to bring all of that together in one place, he came with a specific gap to fill: a pit stop calculator that actually handled Virtual Energy.

Virtual Energy is a core mechanic in GT3 and Hypercar racing in LMU, shaping how you manage fuel across a stint. Every other calculator available ignored it entirely.

We built a tool that covered both VE classes (GT3 and Hypercar) and the non-VE classes (GTE, LMP2, LMP3).

But we went further than the pit stop itself, accounting for the time lost on the in-lap and out-lap too. In a long endurance race that time compounds: it shortens the estimated race window and shifts when your final stop falls. You can toggle tyres on or off at each stop and see the effect on your full strategy in real time.

It became a core tool for Alex’s community. It now drives over half of all traffic to LMU Academy, with over 3,000 unique visitors each month.
